I as a human and as man have often pondered a topic that interests me much, the traditional gender rolls. Now, I have little desire to run around in womens clothes or push a child out my A$$, and I personally am all for the equality of the sexes. The portion of the gender roll battle that gets me is this... How many other creatures on this planet would willingly give up a position where they could have there needs provided for by another creature. In the animal world... very few that I am aware of. Now I personally love empowered, go get life by the nuts kinda women, so the current state of things is fine by me. What I ask myself is, if the rolls where reversed would I throw away that roll... hmmmm, having not been a women I can not answere that fully but I can say it would be a tough choice. Now don't get me wrong the past male dominated world has been hell on women but as of now it is not so bad... balance is coming into the picture, hmmmm maybe soon I can go be the house frau roll and sit and bitch that my women represses me and makes me feel undignified by wanting prepared food and sex for the home and other needs she provides. Now that would make me laugh. How quickly the sexes would simply become the other... how quickly the sexes are becoming one another. In this time of human homogony the loss of defined sexual rolls would be deadly for a species who says things like opposites attract. Our current reaction is to create architypes that fill the roll of human ideals that the other sex wants but soon too those things will become as absured as the world that spawned them. The funny thing is this fact most don't see in the world, I remodel homes for people, now when it comes time to make a descision on almost anything the male says "Honey what do you think?" and what she says goes. Now this fact goes for couples that our 80 to couples that our 25, women have lead more than the think... just from a different place. Its easy to see the world from the hole you are in and not the entire package and that more than anything is the plight of humanity. Everyone, women and men need to stop and look at the whole picture... sometimes it things have worked for 400,000 years because they actually work. Freedom, choice, power to the individual but respect tradition and where we come from. It is easy to complain, it takes real humans try and make it better even if that means excepting the phrase "Equal in Difference".... Peace to all.
